CHRIS Jones is the new caretaker manager at Wootton Bassett after a spot of role reversal at Rylands Way.
Jones was acting as assistant to Barry Giles, but the two have now switched places in the dug-out.
Bassett under 18 boss Jones will take charge of first team affairs until the end of the season when the club's board will re-assess the managerial position after their choice of permanent candidate turned down the role last week.
Chairman Mark Smedley confirmed: "We have given Chris the job until the end of the season because he's shown a real willingness to the cause.
"Barry is happy to take a back seat and use his experience to help Chris."
Jones picks his first team when the squad travel to Devizes in the Senior Cup tomorrow.
He will be boosted by the return of Matty Bennett to the squad after the forward featured for the county last weekend.
