FAIRFORD have raided Supermarine for the second time in a week to recruit defender Matty Goodwin.
After prising unsettled Dave Toomey from Hunts Copse last weekend, Goodwin has also decided to make the switch to Cinder Lane and will go some way to filling the void left by Mangotsfield-bound Phil Ward. The new boy will make his home debut in the Hellenic Premier showdown with unbeaten Bishops Cleeve tomorrow.
Toomey will also feature despite picking up a knock in his first outing against Bicester on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Fairford management hope to hang on to front man Lee Stoddart, who is on the wanted list at Wantage.
Alan Dyton takes his troops to Middle Barton in Division One West and the Shrivenham boss is in surprisingly buoyant mood considering last week's loss at Cheltenham Saracens.
"The defeat was not that bad," he said. "Of course we wanted the points but we showed the ability to battle which has been a failing in the past.
"Kidlington are the only side who are better off than us on points lost.
"I would expect to get three points at Barton and with players now becoming available again I believe we will only get stronger for the second half of the season."
Mark Stevens, Russ Byrne, Mark Peters and Neil Bridges are all set to return, though Rich Tilling (back), Andy Rainer (hernia) and Steve Avenell (work commitments) miss out.
Elsewhere, Cirencester United host Easington.
Ivor Probert, who has added Clanfield striker Aidan Winney to the squad, is set to name an unchanged line-up.
