ICE Age mammoths, life in Iron Age Britain and views of the Second World War are among the topics in a new series of talks at Swindon Museum and Art Gallery.
The talks, organised by the Friends of Swindon Museum and Art Gallery, start with an insight into life around Swindon during the last Ice Age, more than 50,000 years ago when mammoths and woolly rhinoceros roamed around.
Local palaeontologist Dr Neville Hollingworth will be giving an illustrated talk, called Mammoth Finds in the Cotswolds on Friday, January 28, which is about some of the fascinating fossils and animal bones found which have been around Swindon over the years.
Dr Hollingsworth's talk starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets are £4.50 (£3 for members of the Friends of Swindon Museum and Art Gallery).
Future talks are on National Parks, Iron Age Britain, secret resistance in World War Two and war artists.
