Fitness instructor Darren GraceGET FIT FOR 05: Even if you're an incurable couch potato, there's no excuse for not taking regular exercise.
Tone up in front of your TV with these simple exercises:
Armchair Action
Switch on your favourite soap and sit in a comfy chair nothing too strenuous. Now walk to the kitchen and pick up two cans of beans. Don't eat them! Return to your chair ready to try out some bicep curls. Sit on the edge of your chair, straighten your back, holding a can of beans in the palm of each hand. Bring each hand up to your shoulders then lower until your arms are straight. Repeat at least 20 times.
Sofa Squats
Stand in front of your sofa with your legs apart and straighten your back. Bend your knees, keeping your back straight. Hold for a few seconds before returning to the starting position. Repeat at least 10 times.
Banish the Telly Belly
Lie on your back on the living room floor and bend your knees, keeping feet flat on the floor. Place your hands by your temples and bring your head towards your knees. You should feel your stomach muscles working. Try to repeat at least 10 times and increase the number of sit-ups with practice.
