THE best way to help the tsunami victims long term is to buy goods and farm produce from these countries to build up their industries.

At the present time the European Union uses the Common Agricultural Policy to prevent these countries exporting farm produce to Europe. What makes things worse is that the Common Agricultural Policy of the EU creates beef and butter mountains which are then dumped on the world markets at well below cost price.

This causes the farmers from these very countries to go bankrupt as they are forced to sell their goods at below cost price. Britain should make a positive decision to buy goods and farm produce from the affected countries.
