DAVE George believes his Bradford side are finally coming to terms with Southern Counties South rugby after they gave the leaders a real scare on Saturday.

The Bradford coach was delighted with his side's performance as they produced their best display of the season and so nearly picked up their fifth win of the season.

A try from Phil Heal and a conversion and penalty by Joe Bailey gave the hosts a deserved 10-0 lead at half-time but despite strong resistance after the break, Frome just did enough for the victory.

Since last season's promotion, Bradford have struggled to make their mark on the higher league but George hopes Saturday was a sign of things to come.

He said: "We created the chances in the first half to kill them off completely. We knocked the ball forward and put a foot into touch to prevent two certain tries.

"But the whole mood of the team is different. We lost 60-12 at their place before Christmas and to be honest we went out there thinking we would get a kicking and we did. But since then we have picked up a couple of wins and confidence has grown and there is now a good buzz in the changing rooms.

"We have a couple of very tough games coming up in the new few weeks but then we have some homes games that we are targeting maximum points from."

Donnach McNulty and Kyle Vivien impressed for Bradford in the back row while Simon Legg, Marcus Hamblin and Julian Tucker showed their power in the front row.
