SHRIVENHAM closed on the leaders in Division One West after cruising to a 4-1 win at Middle Barton.
Of the top three, only Kidlington were in league action and they were beaten 2-1 by Harrow Hill giving Alan Dyton's troops the chance to close within two points of top dogs Trowbridge.
They duly grabbed the opportunity as Alex Green's first-half double saw them two clear at the break.
The Shrivvy striker completed his hat-trick in the second period and Steve Thomas made it four before the hosts scored a soft consolation.
Cirencester United remain in the bottom four at the other end of the table after a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Easington Clive Messenger scoring the goal for the hosts.
Fairford failed to do neighbours Highworth any favours in the Premier Division.
With John Fisher's team in cup action, Bishops Cleeve were able to leap above them at the top of the table with a 1-0 win at Cinder Lane.
