VOLUNTARY groups working with vulnerable young people are being urged to get their bids in for the next round of Connexions awards.
Connexions Wiltshire and Swindon has more than £100,000 to distribute among groups doing good work in their communities.
A panel, including representatives from the Wiltshire Council of Voluntary Youth Services, Swindon Youth Partnership and Local Connexions Forums, will decide the projects which most deserve the cash.
Smaller groups can qualify for awards of up to £2,500 while larger ones may be eligible for up to £20,000. All projects must show that they can help reduce levels of unemployment among the 16 to 18-year-old age group or increase the proportion of 13 to 19-year-olds in further education.
