Swindon-born Gloucestershire star Jon Lewis believes he is fit and ready for his Test debut should he get the call to step in for one of England's walking wounded at Centurion on Friday.
Having flown over as cover, in time to watch drama unfold at Johannesburg yesterday, the paceman was still reeling from his last-gasp call.
Lewis, who has also been picked for the A tour to Sri Lanka and the United Arab Emirates which starts next month, said: "A few of the guys are struggling with a few slight injuries, so it's sensible that I got called out as cover.
"I've been told to prepare as if I'm playing on Friday (in the Fifth Test), but I've been preparing really since the end of October when I went to Loughborough with the Academy."
