Following many months of research and consultation the first phase of South West England's 'Towards 2015' tourism strategy will be implemented from this month.

South West Tourism's marketing will begin to draw on a series of 11 holiday and short break experiences outlined in Towards 2015, including 'sheer indulgence', 'easy pre-school' and 'close to nature'. Market research has confirmed these 11 experiences as key strengths of the South West over other parts of Britain.

New websites for each experience will be launched during 2005. The first - 'sheer indulgence' is set to go live this month, highlighting South West England's best indulgent holiday experiences, from luxury hotels, to relaxing spas and the region's top restaurants.

February 2005 will see the launch of a national advertising campaign, including national press and glossy magazine advertisements and a sophisticated web marketing strategy.

South West Tourism is a partnership of private enterprise and both local and central government. It works to encourage the promotion and development of tourism in Bath, Bristol, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire.
