SWINDON College has created a free course for young people who missed out on college last September, or who had perhaps started and then dropped out, but now want to learn a skill and gain a qualification.
Vocational Studies, which starts on January 24 and runs until July, offers students aged 16 to 18 the chance to train in four areas from seven on offer.
The choices are: Health and Social Care/Child Care; Catering; Floristry; Interior Design/Painting and Decorating; Hair and Beauty; Construction and Landscaping and Environment.
"This is an exciting opportunity for people who perhaps left it too late to enrol in college in September, maybe started a job or course which hasn't worked out, or those who need skills and qualifications to improve job prospects," says Director of Student Services, Lynne Scragg.
