WOOTTON Bassett Under 18s ran out 22-0 winners over Swanage & Wareham in their latest Dorset & Wilts Merit Table match.
Bassett's win and a Chippenham defeat now leaves Bassett top on points difference with only two rounds remaining.
The try scoring was opened with a silky solo 40-metre run from Daniel David, converted by himself.
A David penalty soon after put Bassett 10-0 up and fullback Karl Brant then went over for a try, again converted, before half-time.
Younger players Richie Nicks, Ben Stew and Rhys Cadogan all shone for Bassett and Sean Warren completed the scoring with a second-half try.
n ANDY Rolfe grabbed a consolation try, the first of the game, as Wootton Bassett Under 14s lost 21-5 at Westbury.
