Cirencester saw their promotion hopes fade away in Gloucestershire Division One as they lost a second succesive league game in Bristol, going down 12-5 at Old Bristolians.
In a game rearranged from November, the visitors struggled to impose their game plan in heavy conditions.
With Adam Seager returning at fly-half the team had a more balanced look from the previous week, but they were well beaten, despite a last-minute try.
In a scoreless first half, Seager saw a penalty rebound off an upright, but in the second half, Ciren had no answer to Bristolians, despite Jason Johnson having a try disallowed.
Bristolians went over for a controversial try soon after and Ciren found themselves playing catch up.
Seager, with a chip-through, fashioned a try for wing Ian Barber, but it was only a consolation and Ciren now look forward to hosting Old Cryptians this Saturday.
