There were major shocks as two of the Swindon Sunday League's top clubs were dumped out of the KO Cup competition.

The biggest was the defeat of red hot favourites and Division One leaders Greyhound, who were beaten 3-2 by Division Eight leaders Green Baize United.

The Baize led 3-0, courtesy of goals from Stuart Morse, Mark Jell and Adam Wainwright, before Justin Miller got one back for Greyhound just before half-time.

A comeback looked on the cards, but all they could manage was a penalty from Stuart Hodson as the Baize recorded a tremendous win.

There will be a new name on the cup this season as holders Juventus also went out after losing out on penalties to Swindon West Indians.

Behind three times in the game, Juventus eventually took the lead when Tony Sardo scored his second goal of the match in extra time to make it 4-3.

But the West Indians fought back to make it 4-4 and extend the tie into penalties, and they eventually triumphed 5-4.

All credit to the West Indians team who lost keeper Malcom Francis with a facial injury. It was outfield player Jimmy Wright who saved the crucial penalty.

James McCarthy and Craig Shand both hit doubles for the winners, as did Sardo for Juve, whose other scorers were Warwick Burnett and Tate Hulbert.

Elsewhere in the competition, in the all-Division Five clash leaders Prince of Wales eased past Campbell James 5-0 thanks to a Chris Williams double, Dan Doole, Kevin Reape and Matt Webster.

Division Two leaders Green Baize joined their compatriots United in the next round when goals from Steve Dixey, Terry Moore and Dave Levett gave them a 3-1 win at Wanborough.

Highworth Swindon Fencing won 2-0 at Queenstown and Division One side Carriers Arms were too good for Dolphin from Division Six, powering to an 8-1 win.

Hat-tricks for Jon Peters and Alex Green and a double from Mark Peters saw them home with Nick Stevenson scoring for Dolphin.

First half goals for Darren Kyle and Rych Wojewodka gave Blyskawica a 2-0 lead at Division Five leaders Intel, who hit back in the second period through Pablo Tome but could find no more and Blyskawica went through 2-1.

In the Chairman's Trophy, Castrol Chiseldon from Division Five beat South Marston from Division Three 4-2 with a double for Jake Henly, one for Bob Buckley and an own goal. Marston's replies came from Nigel Franklin and Mark Wells.

Steve Hales scored the KMLC goal in their home 4-1 defeat against Jovial Monk. Scott Guarnieri did likewise for Bear Marlborough as they lost 2-1 at home to Alanbrooke.

The two teams from the top division both eased into the next round. AFC Gas beat GTS 9-0 with Gary Ashford and Andy Brien scoring twice, Dan Sealey with a hat-trick and Mark Bennett and Darren Hawkins netting. Moonrakers demolished Halcrow 7-1, Mark Croydon, John Joyce, Eddie Powell and Paul Parsons weighing with a four-timer. Halcrow's scorer was Tim Hughes.

A Tony Hurkett brace enabled Pewsey Saints to beat Coleview 2-1 and Deers Leap beat nine-man Swindon City 8-3. Mick Young netted a hat-trick, Paul Loveridge a double, Bob Gardner, Marc Jones and Dennis King also scored.

Division Two side County Ground Hotel beat Arval Cricklade 5-0 thanks to scorers Kevin Coles, Simon Lowe, Micky Solan with a 25-yarder and a double for 48-year-old Steve Slattery.
