ADVICE on heritage-related planning applications in the south west is being given 25 per cent faster than in mid 2004, English Heritage has revealed.
Thanks to modernisation, 91 per cent of planning and 94 per cent of listed building consent advice in the region is now being given with 21 days, a week faster than the previous target of 28 days.
This is helping people needing listed building consent or for permission for projects on highly-graded historic buildings.
Regional director Robert Bewley said: "People now find it easier and quicker to receive expert advice."
