Ref. 75642-35TSUNAMI APPEAL: A HANDMADE doll's house complete with a spiral staircase and gallery is up for grabs to raise money for survivors of the disaster.
John Beauchamp, 74, who retired to Wootton Bassett after a 38-year career in the RAF, crafted the chapel-style dolls house in just five days.
He now wants to donate it to help raise money for the appeal.
"This doll's house represents a Baptist chapel in America, and has a hinged front, and lights which plug into the mains," he said.
"I built it in just five days at a cost of £153, which is my contribution."
The chapel is fitted with pews, a spiral staircase and gallery.
All the windows open, and there is a chandelier and gallery lighting.
Mr Beauchamp's wife Sheila was responsible for the window boxes.
The chapel is two feet high, 12 and a half inches wide and 15 inches deep.
Mr Beauchamp, of Lime Kiln, who has made many dolls' houses, is a former parade marshal for Wootton Bassett branch of the Royal British Legion.
He is bearer for the local branch of the Korean Veterans' Association, for which he is welfare officer.
Anyone who would like to bid for the doll's house, which can be delivered, can contact the Adver newsdesk on 01793 501806.
