WE ARE outraged by the Home Secretary's decision not to back our campaign for a change in the law to provide greater protection for homeowners who are attacked by intruders.
The present law is tilted too far in favour of burglars and The Freedom Association has been campaigning for the past two years for a change in this law.
We believe that Home Secretary Charles Clarke should respond to public opinion. 83 per cent supported our campaign in a poll commissioned on our behalf.
A clear majority believes that intruders should lose all their rights to protection from the law when they enter another person's property with the intent of robbing, raping, or harming the property owner or their property.
We urge readers to apply pressure on their local MP to back reform of the present wholly inadequate law.
