RECRUITMENT firm staff emptied their pockets and cupboards to help out Swindon's homeless hostel Davis House.
Staff and clients of SJC in Commercial Road wanted to donate to the Salvation Army-run centre and eventually handed over hats, gloves, sweatshirts, fleeces, jeans, socks, blankets and toiletries.
Kirk Orchard from SJC said: "Following the success of the same appeal done by our Bath office and Julian House, we felt it was crucial to do the same in Swindon.
"We contacted our clients and so many of them were keen to help. We have collected so many boxes of clothes we almost ran out of storage space in the office."
David Coates from Davis House said: "We are delighted with the support SJC and its clients have given us.
"Most of us are hoarders by nature and we hate to throw things out, especially things like blankets, but to the homeless on the streets blankets can mean the difference between life and death."
So far Swindon businesses to help include Bennetts, Thompson, Accord, Access Displays, GE Polymershapes, Pentel, Zurich, IS Rayfast, NZMP, Endoplus, Clares Equipment, Ross Brooke, Thring Townsend and A Plan insurance.
Any other firms who would like to support Davis House can contact Mr Orchard on 01793 526644.
