HEDNESFORD Town manager Chris Brindley has told his players they will need to put a run together soon if they are to finish the season in the play offs.
The Pitmen are currently lying in tenth place on 35 points and Brindley wants his side to start a run with a win against Chippenham on Saturday.
Last time the two sides clashed was just a month ago with the Pitmen coming away from Hardenhuish with all three points thanks to a narrow 1-0 win, despite being put under pressure for most of the game.
Brindley will be waiting to see if influential midfielder Antony Mcguire will recover from a knee injury that saw him miss last Saturday's FA Trophy third round win against Chippenham's conquerors Worcester.
The Pitmen are currently the FA Trophy winners after an exciting 3-2 final win over Canvey Island. Manager Brindley and Mcguire grabbed a goal each in the historic day for Hednesford.
They now face tough Conference side Burton Albion on February 5.
The manager is hoping Mcguire, who scored his only goal of the season in the 1-0 victory over the Bluebirds, will be back for the match against title chasing Chippenham.
He said: "Mcguire is an influential player and has played in every game of the season except Worcester. He was a big loss to us, I hope he will be fit enough to play Chippenham.
"We have a small squad and we cannot afford to pick up any more injuries."
Since the Trophy win Hednesford have lost most of their star players with only three trophy winners taking part in their last match against Chippenham.
The boss sees Saturday's game as a must win game and thinks his side have a useful advantage as they are playing at home.
"This is an important game for both sides. If we want to climb into the playoffs then we have to put a run of four or five games together.
"We are capable of finishing in the top five, it is crunch time for us and we need to keep chasing the teams above us."
Brinley is hoping his two star strikers can fire his side towards the top five spots.
The front pairing of Andy bell and Liam Mcsweeney have notched up 31 goals between them so far, the manager predicts he will see a lot more from them this season.
"They have done very well for us so far. They play well together, are key players for us and are always a threat."
