CORSHAM Town striker Dave Kilmurry has signed for Screwfix Premier rivals Devizes. The striker has not been able to break into the Corsham first team since the arrival of Toby Colbourne from Westbury.
The 28-year-old striker, who scored 23 goals for Corsham last season, said he needs regular first team football.
He said: "I'm not getting any younger and need to be playing on Saturdays. I get on really well with Colin Bush but I could not sit in the reserves all season."
Kilmurry, who lives in Corsham, said the decision to leave was a difficult one but said he had no problems joining Devizes Town.
"I played for Devizes about four years ago and have been managed by Mark Godley and John Freegard before when they were at Corsham.
"I get on really well with both of them and look forward to playing under them again this season."
Assistant manager at Devizes John Freegard was delighted with his new acquisition.
He said: "We are pleased to have him in the squad.
"He has played with Mark and myself before and we know what to expect from him."
Corsham boss Colin Bush agreed that Kilmurry's transfer was the best move for him but states that the door is not closed behind him in the.
Bush said: "I have told Dave if things don't work out he is more than welcome to return to Corsham.
"He has been fantastic for us and scored lots of goals last season, it would have been nice if he'd stayed, but he needs first team football."
Kilmurry is available for Saturday's Screwfix Premier match against Bideford although he admits he does not know if he will be starting.
