BIDDESTONE go into Saturday's crucial bottom of the table clash with Saltash licking their wounds after an agonising last minute equaliser cost them their first win since October on Saturday.
The Cornwall side are just two points in front of Skidmore's men but have a mammoth seven games in hand. The four teams above Biddestone all have at least five games in hand.
Manager Gary Skidmore said he is aware of the dire league situation and believes the next four games are vital if the club want to survive in the Screwfix League.
He said: "We have to start picking up points in the next batch of games or else we will be giving ourselves a mountain to climb."
His side cruelly missed out on a much needed win against fellow strugglers Cadbury Heath on Saturday in the last minute.
The manager feels the score did not reflect the game as the home side dominated proceedings.
They took the lead through midfielder Paul Poiner in the first half, but were guilty of missing a host of chances before some sloppy defending ensured Biddestone conceded and stayed second from bottom.
The Biddestone manager was left gutted when the final whistle blew as he was convinced his side did enough to earn three points.
He said: "We had the devil's luck again, I think we are due a chunk of good fortune soon.
"The lads played extremely well and we all thought the win was in the bag. The defending was sloppy for their goal as no one went to pick up the winger."
Goalscoring opportunities were few and far between in the first half as both sides battled for possession in the midfield.
The visitors were limited to long-range efforts that screamed over, while Biddestone's best chance resulted in the opening goal on 42 minutes.
Captain Will Edwards made a marauding run down the right and fed the ball to top scorer Luke Gullick.
The frontman, who has just recovered from the 'flu, pulled his shot and it would have gone wide if Poiner was not in the right place at the right time to guide the ball in at the near post.
Biddestone took charge in the second half and should have doubled their lead in the 69th minute.
Midfielder Dean Brookman put Gullick clear on goal, but with just the keeper to beat the striker skewed his shot agonisingly wide.
Home keeper Chris Snoddy was not tested at all until the 89th minute equaliser.
Cadbury had a throw-in near the corner, the thrower received the ball back and was totally unchallenged as he crossed for the striker to poke home at the back post.
Skidmore was happyhis side did not let their heads drop as they went straight up the other end from the centre kick, but Brookman fired wide.
Skidmore added: "All credit to the boys they did not let the equaliser upset them until the final whistle blew."
