GAZETTE & HERALD: EQUITY member Levi Summers is attempting to set up a new dramatic group in Calne after moving to the area.
Mr Summers, 42, from Quemerford, is a committee member of the Wessex Branch for Equity and hopes to find a group of star actors during auditions next week.
He said: "We are hoping to find people with the right enthusiasm and people who want to do something creative. Obviously going forward from that they will be developing new skills and making new friends.
"Around 25 people have already called me so far saying they are interested so I'm quite chuffed about that.
"I have also had people say they would like to work on-stage and some off-stage. The age range has been quite varied as well, from youngsters to people in their forties."
Mr Summers will be leading the group with colleague John Flanagan, who has filmed corporate and training videos as well as advertisements.
Mr Summers said it is hard to plan what the group will be doing as he does not know who will audition. However, he said he did have some ideas.
"We will run it at night once or twice a week depending on the size and effort people put into it.
"Around the World in 80 Minutes is one of the projects I want to do as well as a variety performance and then probably some comedy sketches and comedy plays. There will be a pantomime at the end of the year, because you have to have a panto.
"There's a lot of small villages with super facilities that are not being used and ideally we can tour and use those facilities."
The auditions run from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday, January 29 at the Town Hall. For more information contact Levi Summers on (07867) 600893.
