A BURBAGE pensioner has been the victim of tricksters who claimed they were working on behalf of Sarsen Housing Association.
A man called at his High Street home on Sunday and told him Sarsen had sent him to do some work on the garden.
But he said that before he could do the work he needed to see the man's pension book.
While he kept the elderly man occupied a second man entered the house and carried out a room to room search.
It is not known if anything was stolen.
The first man was described as 18 to 19 years old, 5ft6ins with blond hair. The second man was 20, 5ft8ins and of heavier build. Both wore black fleece jackets. The pair were seen leaving in a light blue car.
Anyone with information should contact Marlborough police on (01672) 512311.
Insp Mark Power has urged all householders to check on the identification of callers and unless completely satisfied, refuse them admission.
