THE 30 peg sell-out event at Les Fearn's Westleaze Fishery exceeded expectations and raised £275 for the Asian tsunami appeal.
Carp and bream fed well and there was some outstanding winter weights, with those who weighed in returned an average of 21lb. (Best carp taken was 9-3-0).
Top man was Wayne Smith, who took a cracking 69-10-0 of carp and bream from peg 15, using a variety of baits. Tony Doyle followed with 41-11-0 from peg 3, Cliff Brown was third with 36-10-0 from peg 29 and fourth was Terry Hicks with 33-6-0 from peg 5.
Section winners for those not in the main pool were: Section A, Jason Fearn 26-4-0 (peg 17); Section B, Darren Reeve 32-1-0 (23); Section C, Martin Iles 17-2-0 (41).
Fearn, who donated his water for the event, was pleased by the sell-out field and the generosity of the anglers.
Meanwhile, a 13-year-old beat 16 adult anglers in the Coleview AC match on Upper and Lower Rushy on Sunday. Luke Hobbs not only won his first match, but his 11-13-0 bag, consisting of four chub and bits from peg 36 at Lower Rushy, won him the Chub Cup, the Dave Jordan Memorial Cup and the top pools payout.
