The long trip to the Gloucestershire borders was rewarded when early Pewsey pressure resulted in the ball being whipped along the back line to winger Matt Mercer for the first try.
Fairford immediately replied with a converted try under the posts but from the re-start the foraging Pewsey forwards passed all the way down the line, with full back John Bevan creating an overlap to score in the corner.
Fairford again struck back with a similar try in the corner but the Pewsey forwards ground away and prop Jamie Padfield crashed over for a try, the score levelled by the conversion of Ali Smith.
After the break the lively Fairford backs soon created another try under the posts but the Pewsey forwards then came into their own, causing defensive problems with their rucking.
The resulting possession allowed back-row forwards Chris Spence and Kieran Danes to score superb individual tries from 30 metres out.
Both tries were converted by Ali Smith the captain. A final Pewsey try was a great team effort with many of the team handling the ball, and number eight Phil Vallis scoring in the corner.
This was a great start to Pewsey's New Year and their next U17 match is on Sunday, January 23 away at Andover.
