TODAY when every bit of spare land is built upon, it is becoming increasingly difficult for people in the athletic fraternity to find land which is suitable and large enough to enable us to put on cross country events.
Thanks to the generosity of businessman Nigel Grist (Devizes Reclamation Limited) we were able to organise two cross country events on his land at the bottom of Station Road car park, Devizes. One was for the Wiltshire Cross Country Championships and the other for the Wessex Cross Country League. Both were a great success.
We wish to thank Mr Grist for his kind generosity in loaning us the land for these events and also would like to thank the residents of Snails Lane for their co-operation in allowing us to walk over part of their land in order to gain access to the fields.
