OVER the past few weeks there have been some very good points made in readers' letters regarding local councillors. It can only be hoped that these points are noted.

One reader stated he would not vote in the future. It is a view reflected by many but please remember that bad councillors get elected by good people who don't bother to vote.

Standing for election should only be done when one feels they have something to offer their community and consider fully what that entails, trying to make a balanced decision within Government guidelines.

It is time councillors woke up to what they have taken on if the public are to have faith in local government.
