PLANS to convert an old factory building into 12 homes hit a setback on Monday amid opposition from residents.
Westbury Town Council unanimously objected to Silverwell Developments' bid for the Canac Dog Accessories site in School Lane, Westbury Leigh.
The developer wants to convert the 100-year-old building into eight flats, two town houses and two starter homes.
School Lane resident Martin Fisher said: "The road itself is so narrow, it's literally a single track road. I feel it's dangerous to have any more vehicles up there."
Neighbours said there are parking problems in the road as not all homes have driveways. Fellow resident Maurice Turner said: "We want guarantees that our road doesn't become a thoroughfare."
Councillors still hope the vacant site can be developed, but believe access must be improved.
