PRESSURE group The Air That We Breathe is organising an international conference to rally environmental campaigners .
The group, which keeps a watchful eye on emissions from Westbury's Lafarge cement works, is planning the event with another group featured in the BBC's Inside Out programme.
The conference will take place in Nice in March and feature speakers from the US, England, Belgium and France.
TATWB chairman David Levy said it would concentrate on organising international opposition to the incineration of hazardous wastes in cement kilns.
He said: "There is an international problem with community groups all over the world feeling isolated."
Mr Levy is hoping to raise £1,500 to send 10-15 experienced delegates to the conference and is asking for donations.
He said: "The Nice group are planning to farm the delegates out to their members to save on bed and breakfast bills. I would like to ask your readers to help sponsor our efforts, which are always on their behalf."
