THE best in the county, as voted for by Wiltshire Times readers, were revealed at an awards ceremony in Trowbridge on Tuesday.
The Best in Wiltshire competition, held in partnership with GWR FM, gave the public the chance to support pubs, clubs, sandwich bars and other businesses across the county.
Wiltshire Times marketing manager Carol Moth said: "It was great to see a high standard of entries in all the categories and the number of votes that were cast.
"This competition is a chance for people to show their appreciation to businesses that give a high level of service, whatever field they are in."
More than 600 people voted in categories ranging from best bar and best live music venue to best cabbie and best family day out.
It was a bumper year for businesses in Trowbridge, with most of the winners coming from the county town.
Leykers Coffee Central triumphed in the best coffee shop section and also came second in the sandwich bar category.
Winner in the coveted best bar section was the Sir Isaac Pitman in Trowbridge.
Duty manager Gary Brooks said: "It was a shock but we are pleased. It is very nice to be appreciated."
The award for best live music venue went to Chicago Rock, which hosts popular live music nights every Wednesday.
Sales manager Ceri Burrell said: "We thank our customers for supporting us and hopefully next year we will win even more awards."
Chicago Rock narrowly missed out in two other categories, coming second in the best bar section and again in the best nightclub section, being pipped to the post by Club Ice.
Winning the best sandwich bar contest was Sangers, also in Trowbridge.
Owner Andrew Quartley said: "We are very pleased. There is a lot of competition in the town now and we are pleased people still think we are the best."
The presentation night was held at the Tale of Spice restaurant, in Castle Street, which were winners in the best takeaway and best veggie food sections.
