LONELY elderly and disabled people could miss out on a vital service if volunteers cannot be found to keep it going.

The Trowbridge Guild of Community Service is desperate to find people to manage its minibus service.

Chairman John Greenaway said: "The guild owns and runs two minibuses, which are fully equipped for disabled and elderly people.

"These people are collected from their own homes and returned there having been shopping, to their disability clubs, luncheon clubs, or on outings.

"Without this service many would find life even more difficult or even lonelier."

The present manager is resigning at the end of March and a volunteer has yet to come forward to take over.

The job involves keeping financial records, paying wages and bills, supervising drivers and dealing with queries.

Volunteers will be given training and anyone interested in finding out more should contact John Greenaway on (01225) 753489.
