16435LAST year's Trowbridge carnival raised £1,000 for the scanner appeal at the town's hospital.
Carnival attendant Rachel Gallagher handed a cheque to the president of the Friends of Trowbridge Hospital towards the appeal, which funds scans for people living in and near the town.
President Basil Green said: "We are delighted with this substantial donation towards the scanner trust fund.
"Sincere thanks go to Trowbridge Carnival Committee and the people of Trowbridge."
Money raised allowed the friends to pay for a mobile scanner unit to visit the hospital in September, a move that cleared the entire backlog of patients waiting for a hospital scan.
The fund now stands at nearly £8,000.
