The family of a 95-year-old man who was left without heating for more than a week has thanked the Adver for getting the problem sorted.
Horace Hunt lives with his son Philip, 70, his daughter-in-law Margaret, 64, and had his wheelchair-bound grandson, Perry, 33, who has spina bifida visiting. The Adver reported the Freshbrook family had been without heating and hot water since Wednesday, January 12 because of a British Gas blunder.
The company said the problem would have to wait until Sunday. But following our story British Gas sent an engineer to fix the problem yesterday.
Philip said: "It is thanks to the Adver. I appreciate the trouble they went to. The paper worked really hard and I appreciate that."
