A WOMAN has been charged following a handbag theft in Liden.
Corless Shelley, 24, of Sheringham Court, Liden, has been charged with robbery, using a stolen bank card and two counts of trying to escape from custody.
The elderly woman involved, who was in her 70s, was left with a bruised face and cuts to her hands after the incident.
Although she didn't need hospital treatment, the pensioner was extremely shaken up by her ordeal.
The incident happened after the women left Tesco at the Liden Centre at 5pm on Monday.
