A DRUG addict has been given a final chance to redeem herself.

Terri-Lee Pearce, 22, of Westbury Road, Penhill, appeared before a district judge on Tuesday, where she admitted breaching an Antisocial Behaviour Order.

Swindon Magistrates' Court heard how staff at a Boots store in the town caught Pearce stealing cosmetics on October 25.

The court was told that when she was stopped she became abusive to the store detective.

A representative from Drug Link, based in Victoria Road, spoke out in her defence and made it clear that they would alert police if she failed to complete a rigorous drug treatment programme and attend daily group therapy.

Rob Ross, defending, admitted that his client had been given every opportunity to get her life back on track.

He said: "If she falls down there is nothing else we can do.

"But while in custody my client has gone through a detoxification programme and she has done that in the face of drug taking at the prison."

Pearce was ordered to return to court on February 16 for a review of her progress.

Granting her conditional bail, Judge Simon Cooper told Pearce: "It's going to be very difficult for you to stay drug-free. But you are warned that if you fall down, Drug Link will put you in breach of your bail and you will be arrested."
