LLOYD Davies produced a superb kicking performance as Trowbridge eased into the semi-final of the Dorset and Wilts Vase on Saturday.
The full back converted Liam Ellis's first half try and then added three more penalties after the break to give his side a comfortable victory.
Playing with the wind in their favour, Blandford started the first half well but struggled to breach Trowbridge's well-drilled defence, although the hosts were left to rue several missed penalties.
In the dying moments of the half, Trowbridge mounted a concerted effort on the hosts' try line and, following a series of forward drives, the ball was spun wide to Rich Jones and he fed fellow centre Liam Ellis for the opening try.
Davis easily converted from under the posts to give the visitors a valuable 7-0 half-time lead.
After the break the result never looked in doubt despite a series of attacks from Blandford.
When Trowbridge entered the opposition's 22 metre line, they were able to come away with points through the boot of Davis.
In the dying seconds of the game, Blandford drove close to the Trowbridge line and when their centre crashed over through a crowd of players he was awarded a consolation try.
The conversion was added to give Trowbridge a 16-7 win.
