Children Amy Wakeman, five, Jordan Wolf, five and Abbie Wolf, three, have been left with no cold water since January 14 Ref:75725-29A FAMILY of eight have been without cold running water for more than a week because of a council blunder.
Beckie, 29, and Michael Wolf, 32 and their six young children have only had hot water since the council turned the cold supply off on January 14.
Full time mum Mrs Wolf said: "They keep sending people out who do nothing and it's such a waste."
Mrs Wolf, whose six children are all aged between one and seven, called the council out after the kitchen tap came loose.
A council worker visited her house but said he did not have the authorisation to fix it so he turned the cold water off instead.
"He looked at it and told us we needed a new tap but said he couldn't fix it himself," Mrs Wolf said.
The couple, of Queens Drive, were then told a plumber would fix the tap within a couple of days.
After waiting six days, nothing had been done so Mrs Wolf called the council again.
She said: "They sent someone out again but it was just the same. He said that it needed replacing but he was only there to give it authorisation and a worker would have to come out."
Despite having been without cold water for 10 days, the council have still not sent anyone round to fix it.
Mrs Wolf, whose family live in council accommodation, said: "I know my tap is not the most important thing in the world, but we're still waiting all this time later. Who knows when they will come.
"People are always complaining about having to pay too much council tax and this is why because the council wastes so much time and money.
"It's no wonder council tax is so high.
"How much must it have cost to send those two people out already? And they've done nothing. What was it for? It's comical but it's not really funny because it's so bad."
A council spokeswoman said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused to Ms Wolf, but due to an administrative error an inspection was raised. We have now corrected this mistake and we have sent somebody out with a new tap to fix it."
