TWO brothers who arrived in Swindon after fleeing the Taleban in Afghanistan have been told they cannot stay in Britain.
Azim, 18, and Wali Ansari, 25, travelled to Swindon in the back of a lorry in 2001 with nothing more than the clothes they were wearing.
Their father was an ethnic minority in Afghanistan and after the war with America broke out he decided it was too dangerous for them to stay.
It took the brothers months to get here after travelling through Pakistan, Iran and then Turkey.
The younger brother Azim won a place as an engineering student at St John's College, Oxford.
But last week the pair discovered their appeal to stay in Britain had been turned down by the Home Office and they must leave the country.
