Ref. 75746-104A UNIQUE version of Aladdin is being staged at the Gorse Hill Community Centre this week.
Tiverton Players are putting on a performance of the popular pantomime from tomorrow until Saturday.
The special version has unusual twist, which the people behind the production are refusing to reveal because it will spoil the surprise for the audience.
Duke Cavilla, 60, who has painted scenery, made props and is in charge of the sound and lighting, said: "It is set in China instead of Arabia and it's different from the norm as there is a subtle twist.
"But to find out what it is people will have to come and see the pantomime."
About 30 people are working on the production and Mr Cavilla said there was something for everyone.
"There are plenty of laughs and lots of colour and fancy costumes," he said.
Last year the group, which has been putting on plays since 1947, staged a production of Cinderella.
"The community centre is an ideal setting," said Mr Cavilla, who has had small roles in previous productions. "Part of the remit for the building was having a proper stage and there are dressing rooms and areas for storage."
As well as the evening performances there is a matinee on Saturday, at 2pm. Children with learning difficulties and disabilities will enjoyed a special performance at 6pm on Sunday.
Tickets cost £5 for adults, £3.50 concessions and a family ticket costs £13. Call 01793 790431 or 01793 790842 for information.
