SUPERMARINE boss Mark Collier is set to celebrate a fine win over in-form Paulton Rovers by securing the services of two new faces.
Roger Emms' second-half header was enough to secure victory at Hunts Copse on Saturday but with a glut of suspensions pending Collier is set to make further waves in the transfer market this week.
A deal for Highworth midfielder JP Mills should be concluded within the next 24 hours and the manager also hopes to have an unnamed Salisbury player on board by the time Marine travel to league leaders Mangotsfield next weekend.
Collier confirmed: "Things are going well at the moment but we've got half a dozen out for Mangotsfield so we need to bring some bodies in.
"We are in talks with JP at the moment and we're also trying to get a loan signing from Salisbury."
If the deals come off, both players will join a squad brimming with confidence after another economic Southern League display at Hunts Copse.
The lively Mark Draycott hit a low shot on 10 minutes which took a wicked deflection off Paulton defender Mike Kilgour which almost turned the ball into his own net.
Roger Emms then headed Steve Davies' cross wide but would later find his range.
Draycott's quickly-taken free-kick found the net after squirming through the grasp of keeper John Rendall, but referee Alfie Fields spared the custodian's blushes by deciding the set-piece was too quickly taken.
Former Marine defender Lea James was next to frustrate Draycott, blocking the striker's first-time strike on the line.
Andy Sandell fired wide on a rare foray into Marine territory but Marine deservedly edged in front two minutes into the second half.
Steve Bennett's corner was only cleared into the path of Tony Joyce and his centre was headed home firmly by Emms.
Paulton boss Darren Perrin saw a possible escape route on the hour when linesman Simon Maynard had to stand down through illness. Perrin protested for the game to be abandoned, but one of his own fans a qualified official stepped into the breach after a 15-minute delay.
Draycott, again, looked the main threat once play had resumed, firing Chris Copp's cross wastefully over from point-blank range.
The visitors almost snatched a point when the otherwise quiet Steve Tweddle escaped the attention of Marine's defence to saunter through but Tom King pulled off a fine save to deny the ex-Chippenham hitman.
"We played well and deserved to win," said Collier.
"With a bit more luck we could have scored a few more Tom King has only had one save to make."
