SWINDON Town Ladies notched up their biggest win of the season when they beat Launton 7-1 in a South West Combination League game played at Aldbourne.
Launton kicked off on a sunny crisp afternoon with conditions perfect and made the early running although the first clean-cut chance fell to the Town.
Kim Reeves slipped the ball through the Launton defence to April Poulden, who was making her Town debut, but keeper Deb Sutton was quickly out to block the shot.
Town began to get into their stride and Lorraine Lutcha put Lara Morgan clear, but her shot was kept out at the expense of a corner that came to nothing.
In the 18th minute, Town took the lead. Reeves put Catherine Reid clear and she squared the ball to Michelle Rich to knock into the empty net.
Three minutes later, Town got a second, Rich becoming provider for Laura Morgan to score.
Town looked to increase their lead and, in the 45th minute, Rich beat the Launton offside trap to run half the length of the field and score.
In the 38th minute, Town scored a fourth when Reeves found Poulden free on the right and her cross was turned into the net by Morgan.
The visitors started the second half well and Town keeper Jodi Steenaart did well to hold Leeann McLellan's low shot from the edge of the area.
In the 73rd minute, Morgan opened up the visitors defence for Rich to score.
Three minutes later Rich's 35-yard shot curled away from the keeper to find the corner of the net.
Despite the scoreline, the visitors battled to get something, but were unable to find a way through the defence with Sam Quinn and Tara Lofts keeping hold of the forwards.
In the 83rd minute the Town took their tally to seven when Reeves put Morgan clear.
With time running out Launton pulled a goal back through Felicity West.
