Was it sour grapes when Walcot candidate Andrew James (Con) criticised Peter Mallinson (Lab) for being a Conservative and then changing to a Labour candidate?
It was refreshing when Mr Mallinson hit back by saying he had made a mistake years ago and would never go back to the Tories, how often do we hear candidates admit that they were wrong?
I do hope that he carries on being honest. If he gets voted onto the council, maybe his honesty will rub off onto other councillors, we would then have a great council doing their best for voters of Swindon. Keep it up Peter.
Also Andrew James said that he would be visible throughout his term, not just at voting time.
The Labour councillor who stands for Walcot is always visible on Walcot not just the East side but also on the West side. She had to do the job of two councillors because the Conservative councillor Laura Holiday was never about.
In the news at this time is a Conservative MP defecting to Labour. What do you have to say about that Mr James?
