GAZETTE & HERALD: THE LANDLADY of The Kingfisher pub in Hungerdown Lane escaped uninjured after being mugged in the pub car park on Tuesday afternoon.
The robber got away with a substantial amount of cash thought to be in the region of £2,700.
Emma Green was getting into her Jeep in the car park carrying the week's takings when she was pushed from behind, causing her to fall across the front seats.
The male offender pulled her black handbag from her grasp and ran off along Baron's Mead.
Police suspect the culprit, who was wearing a black scarf or bandana over his head, then moved on to Hungerdown Lane. His movements are not known from there.
He is described as medium build, fit, wearing dark clothing.
PC Andy Aves of Chippenham police said Ms Green was unharmed but shaken by the incident.
He appealed to any witnesses or anybody who had seen a person acting suspiciously in the area to come forward.
