GAZETTE & HERALD: COUNCILLORS in Box are urging dog walkers to keep their pets under control near Real World Studio to save them from being attacked by swans.
At a parish council meeting last Monday they said they wanted to remind owners that they are responsible for their animals, who would almost always come off worse in a stand-off with a swan.
There have been several reports of dogs worrying the swans down by the mill on Mill Lane.
"People let their dogs off their lead near the swans and they were becoming agitated," Councillor Margaret Rousell said.
"We want to remind people to keep their animals under control. I wouldn't bet my dog against a swan."
Clerk of the council, Margaret Carey said: "The more publicity the better; people are letting their dogs off leads but they will probably come off worst in a fight."
