Andrew ClarkeGAZETTE & HERALD: ON Monday morning, not many boys get to say they spent the weekend taking penalty shots at Manchester City goalkeeper David James, but that is exactly what Andrew Clarke did.
Seven year-old Andrew, of Bethel Road, Corsham won a competition launched by Reebok to be the team mascot for Manchester City when they played against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
Andrew, who goes to Neston Primary School, enjoyed an all access tour through the new grounds and a star-studded meet and greet in the players' lounge. The captain put his arm around Andrew in the players' tunnel and he walked out in front of 44,000 people as the team mascot.
He then led them through the hand shaking ceremony.
While they were tossing the coin Andrew was taken to the goal where he took four penalty shots at David James scoring twice.
His parents and brother Nicholas, 10, also on the tour, delighted in seeing the team's shirts hung up in the changing rooms, getting 13 autographs and enjoying a buffet lunch in the players' lounge.
