CHIPPENHAM'S Platinum Renault has announced the promotion of Ian Chiles to the position of service manager.
Mr Chiles will be replacing Steve Mawby who is going on to head up the service department at the Platinum Renault dealership in Trowbridge.
The Trowbridge dealership is part of the multi-million pound Meridian Project development by Renrod Ltd, owner of the Platinum group of dealerships.
Mr Chiles, 31, will manage the busy service and aftersales department at Platinum Renault in Chippenham.
His role will involve the maintenance of customer care in terms of ensuring that customer's vehicles are correctly diagnosed for repairs.
He will then be responsible for seeing that vehicles are off the road for a minimal amount of time and that new and used cars are ready for delivery.
He will also be involved with health and safety aspects of the site.
Mr Chiles' motor trade career started at the age of 16 when he worked at Hinton Garage in Bath.
Throughout 11 years of employment with Hinton, he progressed from a technician through to rescue and recovery, finally achieving the position of workshop controller.
He left Hinton in 2001 to join Renrod Ltd as one of its first service advisors at Platinum Renault in Chippenham and was promoted to service manager on November 1. He very much looks
forward to his new role.
Mr Mawby has been with Renrod Ltd for 11 years, having already worked at Saxon Garage in Bradford on Avon for three years before Renrod Ltd bought the business 11 years ago.
He has been with Platinum Renault in Chippenham for three-and-a-half years.
Mr Mawby said: "I am very much looking forward to seeing some of my old customers from Bradford on Avon as well as new customers to the Renault dealership at Trowbridge.
"It is very exciting being part of the Meridian Project, working at a brand new dealership with state-of-the-art technology. It will be a very exciting and challenging role and one that I am looking forward to."
