15187/3Seagry Primary School pupils have been learning to take responsibility for themselves and those around them as part of a health week.
The initiative is part of the school's commitment to personal and social health education.
Events held during the health week included a visit from Wiltshire Dental Service, a demonstration by firefighters and a road safety day to stress the importance of wearing seatbelts and cycle helmets.
Jane Helyar, the school coordinator for personal and social health education, said the week had been very successful and the pupils had enjoyed it.
Ms Helyar said: "It was all about the pupils learning to take responsibility for their own actions and to understand the people who help us.
"It was one of our targets to do this year, and now we may have a design and technology week and an art week.
"All of the staff were very good at pitching in and the children have learnt a lot.
"The health week has also broadened our links with the local community. It has gone really well."
Ms Helyar said the school is working towards earning a healthy schools status from the government.
She said the school encourages children to eat healthily and promoted fruit and vegetables as healthy snacks during the week.
She said that personal and social health education is fundamental, because if a child is not happy and stable, they cannot learn properly.
