THREE drivers appeared before Kennet magistrates in Devizes on Tuesday, pleading guilty to driving while over the limit and getting banned from a year to 26 months.

Miles Parker, a 55-year-old builder from Milton Lilbourne, near Pewsey, admitted being nearly three times over the limit when he was stopped by police at Broad Street in Woodborough on the evening of January 9.

He was arrested and at a police station gave a reading of 98 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

He was fined £500 with £34 costs and banned from driving for 26 months.

Baydon-based architect Anthony Seymour is now having to make arrangements to take the train to work and stay overnight in Oxford after he had his licence taken away for 12 months by Kennet magistrates.

Seymour, 41, of Russley Park, Baydon, pleaded guilty to being over the limit when stopped by police shortly after 7pm on the evening of January 5. He registered 48 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath but turned down the offer of a blood test.

Christiane Ozieblo, 60, from Horton Road, Bishops Cannings, will also have to find other means of transport for the next 17 months after she pleaded guilty to drink driving on Tuesday.

Miss Abbott told the court that Mrs Ozieblo was stopped by a police patrol after she drove along London Road, Devizes, without her lights on on the evening of January 4. She was followed by a police car with its lights flashing for two and a half miles but did not stop until she pulled into a friend's driveway in Horton Road.

She registered 58 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

She was banned for 17 months and fined £100 with £34 costs.
