THREE girls from St Peter's School in Marlborough decided to put their best feet forward in aid of the tsunami disaster appeal and pedal for pounds.
The Year 6 trio, Kim Moed, Ebony Richards and Amber Hull raised over £50.
Deputy head Anne Prouse said: "They did this entirely on their own, with a little help from their families.
"It was a lovely surprise when they bought the money in to school and asked what to do with it."
Teachers took the girls to Barclays Bank where it was paid into the Disaster Emergency Committee appeal.
The tsunami appeal has benefited by a colossal £5,325 thanks to generosity of the owner of the Goa Balti at Everleigh, Hassan Ahmed, and his staff.
On Monday evening last week the popular Indian restaurant staged a
special charity night for the Tsunami Appeal.
More than 220 customers took advantage of the evening knowing that everything they paid for food and drink was going to the appeal. The staff agreed to give all their wages and tips for the night to the appeal.
Musicians from Phoenix Brass are looking forward to their first concert of the new year when they stage a tsunami appeal concert as part of their Annual Request Night on Sunday. The concert will take place at the John
O' Gaunt Community Technology College, Hungerford, starting at 7.30pm.
The Request Night is free, but entry is by ticket, which can be obtained from Crown Needlework, 115 High Street, Hungerford, by contacting any band member or from John Miles at the John O'Gaunt Community Technology College.
