CONGRATULATIONS to Daniel Amos and the other New College students for their protest outside Starbucks coffee shop in a bid to highlight Fairtrade coffee.
Regardless of what you might feel about the campaign, it is refreshing to read about young people standing up for a cause that they believe in. Too often the youth of today are branded with a lazy and self centred tag. They also protested in a legal and orderly way which gave those who stopped the chance to agree or disagree.
This gives me hope that the youth of Swindon have not ditched the process of democracy and are not afraid to stand up peacefully against something that they see as wrong. I personally agree with their stand on Fairtrade and would urge readers of this to find out more.
